Dr. Michael Sonick is a full-time practicing periodontist and implant surgeon in Fairfield, CT. A renowned educator and clinical researcher, he is a Guest Lecturer for the International Dental Program at New York University School of Dentistry, a former Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at Yale University School of Medicine, and a frequent lecturer on periodontics, dental implants and practice management for educational programs around the world. Locally, he is the founder and director of the Fairfield County Dental Club, an advanced continuing education organization that provides courses on the latest developments in dentistry to clinicians and their staff.

Dr. Sonick serves on the Editorial Review Board of Contemporary Esthetics and Restorative Practice, and frequently contributes to the dental literature in the area of periodontal surgical techniques, esthetics, dental implants, bone grafting, gingival grafting, and radiographic protocols for predictable implant placement. His international contributions have been recognized through various awards, including an Honorary Membership in the Indian Society of Periodontists, Fellowship in the American College of Dentists, Fellowship in the Pierre Fauchard Society and a member of Who's Who in Dentistry. The General Dental Practice Residents at Yale New Haven Hospital also awarded Dr. Michael Sonick the honor of "Teacher of the Year."

After earning his DMD degree from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine and completing Residency at Metropolitan Hospital in Spanish Harlem, Dr. Sonick volunteered his services as a dentist for various kibbutzim in Israel. He returned to Manhattan to private practice for one year, then completed his residency in periodontics at Emory University in Atlanta, and received implant training at the Branemark Clinic at the University of Gotenborg in Sweden, and at Harvard University School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Sonick makes his home in Fairfield, Connecticut with his wife, Carole, and three children Becky, Jason and Jennifer. He enjoys many hobbies, and coaches his children in soccer and basketball.
